Kevin is the Lead Pastor of The Branch. Kevin is originally from Snellville, Georgia and a graduate of South Gwinnett High School. He pursued his artistic talents at the Art Institute of Atlanta where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1993, and worked for over 10 years in the graphic arts field. Once Kevin fully answered God’s call into vocational ministry he pursued his Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of West Georgia in 2005. Using his BA as stepping stone to graduate school he received his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky in 2009. Kevin was commissioned a provisional elder in the United Methodist Church on June 14, 2011.
Kevin and Becca, his wife since 2000, have two young daughters Cavender and Zarah Belle. Becca is originally from Stone Mountain, Georgia and was a high school English teacher before staying home to care for their daughters.
He has been serving in the ministry in some capacity or another since 1995 when he first began as an adult volunteer with the youth program at Snellville United Methodist Church. Since that time Kevin has gone on to be the youth pastor at Spout Springs UMC in Flowery Branch, Georgia and at Providence UMC in Fayetteville, Georgia. Kevin returned to Providence after the completion of his M.Div. in Kentucky to serve as the Sr High Youth and Young Adult Pastor. While in Kentucky, Kevin and his family worshiped at Hope Springs UMC in Lexington, Kentucky. Kevin became very involved in the vibrant Celebrate Recovery Ministry at Hope Springs. He also regularly served in the laundry ministry and participated in a bible study for homeless persons. Closely serving the least, last and lost of Lexington altered Kevin’s heart forever as he became changed by witnessing the transformational love and grace of Jesus Christ firsthand.
Kevin declares that he has “the spiritual gift of hanging out” and loves to spend time in conversation with people, his favorite of which are his wife and two daughters. Kevin loves fishing, watching Tennessee football, and playing a game of wiffle ball, kickball, or football at the drop of a hat!
Truth Be Told is our praise band for The Branch. The band has an exciting sound that combines contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns done in a contemporary style. They provide a vibrant worship experience. Listen to some of their recent music under the media tab on this site.
Jeffrey Flake Refreshment Coordinator
Jeffrey is our Refreshment Coordinator at The Branch. He has a wonderful passion for missions. One of the gifts that God has given Jeffrey is the gift to bring people together and build relationships through providing refreshments. Jeffrey prepares food every Sunday at The Branch alongside his wife and two boys. They often make homemade cinnamon rolls, bacon, doughnuts, and many other things. While he is not cooking, he serves the community as a fire fighter.
Michelle Peeler Welcome Coordinator
Michelle is the Welcome Coordinator at The Branch. She is passionate about welcoming people and trying to make you feel like you are family when you come to The Branch. Michelle trains, schedules, and oversees all of our Welcome Team about your first connection and to help you to take the next step in connecting to the church. Michelle is a local Pharmacist during the week.
Rob Landham Worship Logistics and Audio Coordinator
Rob is not only our Worship Logistics and Audio Coordinator, but he also serves as the Sexton for The Branch. Basically, Rob runs the ministry from most of the things that is done behind the scenes to make your worship experience a meaningful one. He is the one that makes everything work so smoothly by helping prepare the worship space, running the sound board, recording the audio for the service, and anything else that needs to be worked out for the worship service. Rob is a senior at Spalding High School here in Griffin, GA.
