The Branch is a contemporary worship community of Griffin First United Methodist Church. We hope that this website will give you enough information to lead you to come for worship on a Sunday morning.

We worship together every Sunday at 11am in the Fellowship Hall.

The Advent season is here! The term ‘advent’ stems from a Latin word meaning ‘coming’. The Christ child is on his way! The season of Advent includes the four Sundays before Christmas day. Each Sunday has a theme, from first to last they are: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

The third Sunday of Advent we discussed the Joy of the Lord. We typically choose songs and music styles based on our worldview or attitude toward life. Singing is so often an overflow of our heart’s passion. What are you passionate about? Is the Joy of the Lord overflowing from within your heart and revealing itself through song? I hope, especially during this Christmas season, your heart will overflow with the Joy of the Lord!

The second Sunday we discussed the Peace found in Jesus Christ. Whether our plans fall through or someone we love falls ill, peace can quickly slip out the door and our world can seem upside down. As we read in Mark 4, Jesus is the calmer of storms; both physical and emotional. Finding PEACE in chaos happens when we unite ourselves with the indestructability of Christ.

The first Sunday we discussed the Hope found in Jesus Christ. Our HOPE is built on our faith that Jesus is who he, the prophets, and God says he is. The birth of Christ is the foundation of our hope!
